Our Beliefs
The Scriptures, both the Old and the New Testament, are verbally inspired by God and are God’s revelation to humanity, the infallible and authoritative rule of faith and conduct.
2 Timothy 3:15–17 • 1 Thessalonians • 2 Peter 1:21
We believe in one eternal and almighty God—the Creator of heaven and earth. He has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: three distinct persons in perfect unity. The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, true God and true man, who became incarnate to be Immanuel—God with us.
Deuteronomy 6:4 • Matthew 28:19 • John 1:1,14 • 2 Corinthians 13:14
The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures affirm His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the dead, and His exaltation to the right hand of the Father.
Matthew 1:23 • Hebrews 7:26 • 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 • Philippians 2:9-11
Man was created good and upright, for God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” However, by his own will, man fell into transgression, thereby incurring not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.
Genesis 1:26–27 • Genesis 2:17 • Genesis 3:6 • Romans 5:12–19
The only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is received through repentance and faith in Christ. The believer is justified by grace, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and becomes a child and heir of God with the hope of eternal life. The inward evidence is the testimony of the Spirit; the outward evidence is a life of righteousness and holiness.
John 3:3 • Romans 10:13 • Ephesians 2:8 • Titus 3:5-7 • Romans 8:16
We observe two ordinances: Baptism in Water by immersion, publicly declaring our death and resurrection with Christ; and Holy Communion, which commemorates the Lord's sacrifice, proclaims His death, and announces His second coming.
Matthew 28:19 • Romans 6:4 • 1 Corinthians 11:26 • 2 Peter 1:4
Every believer has the right to receive and should seek the baptism in the Holy Spirit, promised by the Father and commanded by Jesus Christ. This experience, distinct from the new birth, grants power for life and service, and spiritual gifts for ministry. The initial physical evidence is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit leads.
Lucas 24:49 • Hechos 1:8 • Hechos 2:4 • 1 Corintios 12:1-11
The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit directs them.
Acts 2:4
Speaking in tongues in this case is essentially the same as the gift of tongues, but it differs in purpose and use.
1 Corinthians 12:4-10 • 1 Corinthians 12:28
Sanctification is separating oneself from all that is evil and consecrating oneself to God. By the power of the Holy Spirit, the believer can live in holiness, identifying with Christ in His death and resurrection and daily submitting to the domain of the Spirit.
Romans 6:1-13 • 1 Thessalonians 5:23 • Hebrews 12:14 • 1 Peter 1:15-16
The Church is the body of Christ, called to: evangelize the world, worship God, edify believers into the image of Christ, and demonstrate God's love and compassion. As an Assemblies of God church, we are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19-20 • Efesios 1:22-23 • Hechos 1:8 • Efesios 4:11-16
God has provided a ministry with a divine calling to lead the church in evangelizing the world, worshipping God, edifying believers, and serving human needs with love and compassion.
Mark 16:15 • John 4:23-24 • Ephesians 4:11-12 • James 1:27
Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers.
Isaiah 53:4-5 • Matthew 8:16-17 • James 5:14-16
The resurrection of those who have died in Christ and the rapture of living believers at the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the Church.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 • Titus 2:13 • Revelation 20:1-6 • Romans 11:26
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for a thousand years. This reign will bring the salvation of Israel as a nation and the establishment of universal peace.
Zechariah 14:5 • Revelation 19:11-14 • Revelation 20:1-6 • Romans 11:26-27
There will be a final judgment in which the dead sinners will be raised and judged according to their works. Anyone whose name is not found in the Book of Life will be confined to eternal punishment along with the devil and his angels.
Matthew 25:46 • Mark 9:43–48 • Revelation 19:20 • Revelation 20:11–15 • Revelation 21:8
"We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness."
2 Peter 3:13 • Revelation 21:22
